Samsung has officially rolled out an UI 8 beta on the basis of Android 16, for its Galaxy S25, with significant AI -operated facilities and enhanced security measures. Beta is currently available for the Galaxy S25, S 25+ and S25 Ultra models in selected regions including the United States, United Kingdom, Germany and South Korea.

Key Features of One UI 8

Advanced AI Integration: One UI 8 brings multimodal AI capabilities that adapt user behavior, offers personal suggestions and prompts. Features like the Now Bar and Now Brief provide tailored updates to enhance productivity.

Enhanced Multitasking: The update introduces improved multitasking features, including a more intuitive split-screen mode, allowing users to manage multiple apps efficiently.

Redesigned Reminder App: The Reminder app has been overhauled for better list management and sharing capabilities, streamlining task organization.

Quick Share Improvements: File sharing is now more straightforward with an updated Quick Share interface, facilitating easier content exchange between devices.

Auracast Support: One UI 8 includes Auracast functionality, enabling audio sharing via QR codes, which is particularly beneficial for users with hearing aids or Galaxy Buds 3.

New Security Enhancements

Secure Folder ‘Kill Switch’: A notable addition is the ‘Hide Secure Folder’ feature, acting as a kill switch that conceals the Secure Folder app icon and encrypts its contents, ensuring sensitive data remains protected.

Separate Biometric Authentication: Users must now register separate fingerprints for unlocking the Secure Folder, adding an extra layer of security to personal data.

Eligible Devices and Availability

Currently, the One UI 8 beta is available for:

  • Galaxy S25
  • Galaxy S25+
  • Galaxy S25 Ultra

Samsung has indicated plans to expand the beta program to other devices, including the Galaxy S23 and S22 series, in the near future.

How to Join the Beta Program
